Background of the Text
Who was Hezekiah?
Hezekiah was the 13th king of Judah, reigning in Jerusalem.
He was one of the few godly kings after David he removed idols, restored temple worship, and trusted in the Lord during tough times (2 Kings 18:5).
In 2 Kings 18–19, he faced the threat of Assyria, and through faith and prayer, God delivered Jerusalem miraculously.
So by the time we reach 2 Kings 20, Hezekiah is:
A godly leader.
A man of faith.
But now… a man with a terminal diagnosis.
Let us look at it keenly
