ADVANCING GOD’S KINGDOM

INTRO
So far we have seen God’s Kingdom can be extended through:-
-Prayers
-Signs,Wonders and Miracles.
Today I want to share with us another way we can partner with God to Extend His Kingdom
And that is :
EXTENDING GOD’S KINGDOM THROUGH GIVING
Are you aware that as believers in Christ ,we are all products of GIVING?
John 3:16.FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
That HE GAVE HIS ONLY….
DEF OF GIVING:-
It is freely releasing something/ someone to be owned by another person.
Turn with me to
Matt.13.31 – He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Matt.13.32 – Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”
Allow me to highlight few things to help us understand the passage
Jesus was still in the business of EXTENDING GOD’S KINGDOM even though oppositions were becoming great.
He was opposed by religious leaders
The pharisees etc.
He was blocked even preaching in the synagogues
And He decides to extend it to the streets, Lakesides, Private homes/ house etc.
The book of Matt 13,Jesus extensily uses parables
Reason being :
-Culture:-palestianians were used to parables and stories
-To conceal some truth to the uninterested people
-To hold attention of the interested
Let us go back to our scripture and see something:
Explain
Our main point is
-The farmer GIVING OUT HIS SEED
-The SMALL SEED
-After GROWING it BECOMES a BIG tree
-It BENEFITS the BIRDS
Now like this farmer who GIVES OUT HIS SEED,it BECOMES a good example to us that GOD’S KINGDOM can be extended to other unknown regions/ places and bring remarkable impacts THRU GIVING.
We can GIVE
-Our Lives
-Our Time
-Our Resources
-Our Finances etc.
Let us see few people in the bible who extended GOD’S KINGDOM THROUGH GIVING
- Women
Luke 8:1-3
-Jesus ministry of EXTENDING GOD’S KINGDOM was supported by WOMEN
_2Kings 4:8-10 – A shunammite woman
She gave Elijah A room that was furnished with
A bed,Table and a lamp
- A little boy
John 6:9
The boy gave out His lunch( 5loaves and 2Fishes)
Jesus used to extend His Kingdom to MORE THAN 5000 people.
- A Very Poor Church
2Cor 8:1- 4
They were very poor
In trials
Struggling
But they still gave
Not only gave :
They begged for an opportunity to give
Giving is NOT about Wealth,It is about a willing heart
God looks at the Sacrifice NOT Size( amount)
ILL. Our last revival meeting.
CONCLUSIONS
Are you there you have been struggling with the issue of Giving,or everytime you hear it being mentioned you feel bad.
When was your last time your gave towards Extending God’s Kingdom.
Do you give your Tithe, Offerings,Support Mission/ Evangelism ministry.
Is there anything since you joined this church you can tell God I bought or in participated in doing that?
Come on make up your mind and do a commitment prayer to God that from today I want to be a Kingdom extender through GIVING.
And if you have never given your life to Jesus you have an opportunity NOW.
